Touring the Algarve through the History of Paladares

On Friday, June 16th, at the Sotavento Delegation of Regional Directorate for Agriculture and Fisheries Algarve, we will be talking with: Deana Barroqueiro for “Touring the Algarve through the History of Palate”.

The program includes a visit to the CEAT ( Tavira Agricultural Experimentation Center) Fruit Collections, at 9.30 am, and a visit to the exhibition “O Posto Agrário de Tavira”( The Agrarian Post of Tavira) at the end of the session.

This is a joint organization of DRAP Algarve with the International Association of Paremiology.

The writer DEANA BARROQUEIRO received the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards (Series), – Award for the best cookbook in the world in 2022, with the trilogy “História dos Paladares”.

She was awarded 5 world prizes, including the Oscar of the Gourmand World Awards, for the Best Gastronomy Book Series in the World (among 227 countries), an award that had never been won by Portugal. From the selection of 62 countries, in the last phase of this Contest, the books snatched the highly coveted GOURMAND BEST IN THE WORLD 2022 – SERIES world prize, beating the 11 final competitors in that category.

She is again nominated for the Academy Award for the Gourmand Best in the World Awards, which will be unveiled soon in Sweden.
