As part of the commemoration of 100 years of tourism in Bol, the Tourist Office with the help of the Association of Bol caterers organized the first squid, octopus, cuttlefish and muskrat hunting competition on October 7 and 8, 2023. Fishing lasted two days, with 35 teams and 120 competitors. Chefs from the Association SKMER (Chefs of the Mediterranean and European Regions) prepared dinner for all gathered, veal with peas and caught squid with pasta and broad beans. Although squid hunting is a traditional activity of the local population, this is the first time that it has been organized as a sports-cultural event with the aim of promoting the Mediterranean diet in the town of Bol on Brač.
